1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Dinas Powys | 3 Days a Week
Academics are currently recruiting a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a pupil in a Primary School in the Dinas Powys area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced LSA who has a strong background supporting children with ALN and behavioural needs.
The role is due to start as soon as possible and is a long-term position, working 3 days per week.
The Role
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to a pupil, helping them to access learning and feel confident and settled within the school environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day
Supporting a child with ALN and behavioural needs
Helping the pupil access classroom learning and activities
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Building a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil
Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement
Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
Supporting social and emotional development
Adapting activities and approaches to meet the pupil's individual needs
Following individual support plans and behaviour strategies
Maintaining a calm, positive and nurturing environment
Following safeguarding and school policies at all times
We're Looking For
The successful 1:1 Learning Support Assistant will have:
Previous experience supporting children with ALN/SEN
Strong experience supporting children with behavioural needs
Previous experience working in a primary school setting
The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Availability to work 3 days per week
A commitment to a long-term role in the Dinas Powys area
Requirements
Enhanced DBS
EWC registration
Previous experience working with children
Relevant safeguarding and compliance checks
Right to work in the UK
