HGV Class 1 Night Driver
Location: Birmingham
Pay rate: £18.50 per hour
Start times: Between 3:00pm and approximately 7:30pm
The Recruitment Group is currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for straightforward night trunking work based in Birmingham.
This position involves refrigerated trunking between locations, with no loading or unloading required. It would suit a reliable Class 1 Driver looking for uncomplicated A-to-B driving and regular evening or night starts.
Key responsibilities
Completing refrigerated Class 1 trunking runs
Driving safely between designated collection and delivery points
Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift
Completing all required paperwork accurately
Following planned routes and delivery schedules
Complying with drivers’ hours and Working Time regulations
Reporting any delays, defects or incidents promptly
Maintaining professional standards while representing the client
The ideal candidate
You will need:
A valid UK LGV/HGV Class 1 licence
A valid Driver CPC qualification
A valid Digital Tachograph Card
Previous Class 1 driving experience
A good understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations
A reliable and professional approach
The ability to work evening and night shifts
An acceptable driving record, subject to licence checks
Previous refrigerated or trunking experience would be helpful, although the uncomplicated nature of the work may suit drivers from a range of Class 1 backgrounds.
