Science Teacher (Alternative Provision)

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and resilient Science Teacher to work within the Alternative Provision (AP) department of a well-established Secondary School in Warrington.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Teacher who is passionate about supporting young people who require a more personalised learning environment. You will be teaching Science to small classes of approximately 8 students, allowing you to build positive relationships and make a genuine impact on pupil progress and engagement.

The role is available to start as soon as possible and is expected to continue until Christmas, although there is potential for the position to be extended, become permanent, or lead to a temp-to-perm opportunity.

Type of work - Teaching Science to KS3 and KS4 students within an Alternative Provision setting
Start date - ASAP
Duration / Likely Duration - Until Christmas 2026, with the potential to continue
End date (if applicable) - December 2026
Contract type - Temporary
Full time/part time - Full time
Minimum rate of pay - Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
Hours - 8:30am - 3:30pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

QTS, QTLS, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience working with pupils displaying challenging behaviour or within an Alternative Provision, SEND or SEMH setting would be advantageous
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training is provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional references that cover the last two years, notwithstanding referencing any appropriate child-related work experience
Appropriate CV history
