As an English Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop their reading, writing, communication and analytical skills.
The Role
Depending on the school and placement, you could be responsible for:
Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Teaching English Language and Literature.
Preparing students for GCSE examinations.
Following existing schemes of work and lesson plans where appropriate.
Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
Maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
Building strong relationships with students and encouraging positive attitudes towards learning.
Working collaboratively with the English department and wider school team.The Ideal English Teacher
The successful candidate will ideally:
Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Have experience teaching English within a secondary school.
Be confident teaching across KS3 and KS4.
Have strong classroom management skills.
Be passionate about English and committed to raising student achievement.
Build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
