Freelance Site Manager
Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire
Duration: 18 Days (Holiday Cover)
Start Date: Thursday 1st October (Handover with PM)
Project: It is a small scheme providing new structural support to an existing retaining wall at the Haribo Factory.
We are recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a specialist civil engineering and structural project in Pontefract.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate multiple subcontractors including piling, groundworks, steelwork and brickwork.
* Manage permit-to-work systems and ensure all permits are correctly administered.
* Review, communicate and enforce RAMS across all site activities.
* Monitor and update the construction programme, ensuring key milestones are achieved (Asta Powerproject experience desirable).
* Manage site logistics, sequencing of works and access within a constrained live environment.
* Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively.
* Ensure plant, lifting operations and equipment are planned and carried out safely.
* Manage site inductions and ensure all personnel are competent and compliant.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering, structural or infrastructure projects.
* Competent using digital construction management platforms (experience with systems such as Procore is advantageous).
* Asta Powerproject experience is highly desirable.
* SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certificates are essential.
