We're looking for caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in secondary schools across Wakefield. Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant, a recent graduate, or someone with experience supporting children or young people, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside teachers to support pupils' learning, build confidence, and help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child can succeed.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons

Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning

Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and participation

Supporting children with a range of learning needs, including SEND where required

Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment

Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources

Upholding safeguarding procedures and school expectations at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

✅ Experience working with children or young people in an educational, childcare, coaching or support setting

✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

✅ A positive, patient and proactive approach

✅ The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff

✅ A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
