SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School

We are currently recruiting for a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary SEN school in Merton.
The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment for pupils with a range of additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to help pupils access learning and develop both academically and socially.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN TA, LSA or someone with a strong background working with children with additional needs.
The role will involve:
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Assisting with classroom learning and activities
Supporting pupils with additional and complex needs
Helping pupils develop their communication, independence and social skills
Implementing individual support strategies
Providing emotional and pastoral support
Supporting positive behaviour throughout the school day
Working closely with teachers and other professionalsThe ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working with children with SEN
A patient, nurturing and encouraging approach
Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to remain calm and consistent
A genuine passion for helping children reach their potentialExperience with autism, complex needs, communication difficulties or challenging behaviour would be highly desirable.
