The Setting

We are working with a welcoming and nurturing nursery based in Weston-super-Mare, dedicated to providing high-quality early years education and care for children aged 0–5 years. The nursery offers a calm, stimulating environment inspired by play-based, child-led learning principles.

With bright, well-resourced indoor rooms and beautiful outdoor spaces, children are encouraged to explore, imagine, and grow at their own pace.

The setting prides itself on its warm, inclusive atmosphere, where strong relationships between staff, children, and families help every child to feel valued, supported, and confident.

The Role

We are seeking a qualified Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join this dedicated and passionate team. You will help deliver inspiring learning experiences that nurture curiosity, creativity, and independence in every child. We would still like to hear from you if hold the level 2 qualification or are working towards it.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about early years education and enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive, community-focused environment.

Main Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities following the EYFS framework

- Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development

- Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to individual learning journals

- Ensure children’s safety and wellbeing are always prioritised

- Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

- Support children with additional needs where appropriate

Essential Criteria

Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (we would still like to hear from you if are level 2, or working towards it)

Previous experience working with children aged 0–5 years

Sound understanding of the EYFS

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A caring, patient, and professional approach

Desirable Criteria

Experience working in a nursery or early years setting

Knowledge or experience supporting children with SEND

Essential requirements:

Right to work in the UK – we are unable to offer Sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas.

Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years).

Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one*

*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
