Are you an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher looking to join a forward‑thinking Multi‑Academy Trust (MAT) in a supportive coastal location? This well‑regarded secondary school in Weymouth, Dorset is seeking a Teacher of Science to join their team from September 2026.
This role would particularly suit an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for excellent mentoring, strong departmental support, and a school that is genuinely invested in professional development. Applications from experienced teachers are also welcome.
✨ The Role
You will teach Science across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities at KS5 depending on experience and specialism. You'll join a collaborative department with a shared commitment to high standards, creativity, and pupil engagement.
Responsibilities include:
* Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum
* Teaching Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics depending on specialism
* Creating a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment
* Adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners
* Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress
* Contributing to departmental development and whole‑school initiatives
✅ The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a reflective and motivated practitioner who:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Has a degree in a Science subject or closely related field
* Is an ECT or experienced teacher with strong subject knowledge
* Demonstrates effective behaviour management and communication skills
* Has a genuine passion for Science and inspiring young people
ECTs will benefit from:
* Structured induction and mentoring
* Access to MAT‑wide training and CPD
* A supportive leadership team and experienced colleagues
