Are you a Design Engineer - Air & Fuel Systems looking for high-level technical ownership, with Flexible Working and a Long-Term Contract? Do you have strong CAD/PLM experience designing powertrain or engine components from concept through to production release?

This is an opportunity to join a world-leading engineering organisation in a technically focused contract role where you'll plan and deliver complex component design and development work to time, cost and quality.

You'll be part of a specialist component engineering function, working in a small team but collaborating with global engineering groups, suppliers and production facilities to deliver world-class quality and reliability.

In the role you'll design and develop air and fuel system components, lead design reviews, support supplier nomination, and drive validation activities using structured engineering tools such as APQP, FMEA and DVP&R.

This role suits a technically driven engineer who wants specialist, high-status engineering work-owning complex design problems, deepening expertise in air/fuel systems, and delivering robust solutions through to production.

The Role:
- Design and deliver air/fuel system component development projects, working with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders
- On-site role in Peterborough with collaboration across global engineering and production facilities
- 40 hours per week contract role (no on-call/shift pattern stated on the record)

The Person:
- Degree-qualified in Engineering (or equivalent experience) with strong mechanical engineering fundamentals
- Strong design background in powertrain/engine components, including CAD (Creo) and PLM (Teamcenter)
- Confident leading design activity and applying structured methods (e.g., APQP, FMEA, DVP&R) to deliver quality outcomes
