About this contract

A leading consultancy partner is seeking two experienced Data Engineers to join a major data transformation and cloud modernisation programme within a large banking organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on Data Engineers who enjoy building scalable data solutions, solving complex data challenges, and contributing to enterprise-wide cloud transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, build, and optimise scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.

* Develop and maintain data solutions using Databricks, Python, SQL, and Oracle.

* Support the migration of data assets from legacy platforms into modern cloud-based environments.

* Deliver enterprise-grade data solutions within a highly regulated environment.

* Ensure data quality, integrity, performance, and security standards are met.

* Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data solutions.

* Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable fixes.

* Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organisation's data platform and engineering practices.

Required Skills & Experience

* 5+ years' commercial experience as a Data Engineer.

* Strong hands-on expertise with Databricks.

* Advanced SQL development skills.

* Strong Python programming experience.

* Extensive experience working with Oracle databases.

* Proven experience building and supporting enterprise data pipelines and integration solutions.

* Experience working within cloud-based data platforms.

* Strong understanding of data modelling, performance optimisation, and data quality controls.

Desirable Experience

* Banking or Financial Services experience.

* Experience working within regulated environments.

* Exposure to Azure Data Platform services.

* Experience supporting cloud migration or modernisation programmes.

* Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices for data engineering.

Contract Details

* Inside IR35

* 6-month initial contract

* 3 days per week onsite in Canary Wharf, London

* Immediate start preferred
