Contract Mechanical Engineer
Location - 3 days Bristol, 1 day on site, 1 WFH
Term: Initially 9 months
Working pattern: 4 days on site / 1 day remote
Start: ASAP
Rate: £45-50 per hour
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to contribute to one of the UK's major land combat vehicle programmes.
Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will help identify and resolve technical and design conflicts across different areas of the programme, working closely with engineers and stakeholders to deliver effective engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide mechanical engineering expertise.
Identify, investigate and help resolve cross-project technical issues.
Provide sound technical advice to support engineering decisions and programme delivery.
Identify and resolve design conflicts and integration issues across programme pillars.
Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Produce and contribute to successful engineering outputs and technical deliverables.
Engage with a wide range of engineering, project and stakeholder teams.
Support the integration and successful delivery of the programme.
Where required, support trials activity at other locations.Essential Skills & Experience
A suitable engineering qualification and level of training at Level 4 or above.
Professional registration as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) or equivalent, as a minimum.
Demonstrable experience providing technical engineering advice and delivering successful engineering outputs.
The ability to gain SC Clearance
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be advantageous:
Experience of asset management.
Experience working with in-service military equipment.
Experience working on large and complex engineering programmes.
Experience working with large and diverse stakeholder groups.
