Long-Term Freelance Opportunity

I’m looking for an experienced Design Manager or Project Manager with strong design experience to join a leading Tier 1 refurbishment contractor on a long-term freelance basis.

The contractor delivers major refurbishment and fit-out schemes with project values up to £50m.

This doesn't necessarily need to be a traditional Design Manager. I’m very interested in speaking with Project Managers who are technically strong and comfortable taking responsibility for both project delivery and the design process.

The role will include:

* Managing the design process from pre-construction through delivery

* Coordinating consultants, architects and specialist subcontractors

* Reviewing drawings, technical submissions and design information

* Identifying buildability issues before they impact site

* Driving design information in line with the construction programme

* Working closely with the commercial and site delivery teams

* Chairing design and progress meetings

* Taking wider PM responsibility where required

Ideal background:

* Tier 1 / established main contractor experience

* Strong refurbishment and/or high-end fit-out background

* Projects ideally £10m-£50m+

* Design Manager, Project Manager or technically biased Construction Manager

* Comfortable operating in a combined Design / Project Management role
