About this contract

Lead the delivery of complex infrastructure projects and play a key role in shaping critical assets within a highly regulated environment.

Our Client has a requirement for a Project Manager, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Glasgow.

Role Purpose:

Deliver assigned packages of infrastructure works from design through to completion.
Lead multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful delivery of project objectives.
Manage NEC4 contracts and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and contractors.
Drive programme performance across cost, schedule, quality and risk management activities.
Support the successful delivery of a major long-term infrastructure programme within a secure operational environment.
Job Role Responsibilities:

Project manage the design, delivery and commissioning phases of electrical systems.
Provide project management expertise to establish and deliver project-specific objectives.
Use effective leadership styles to gain and maintain the trust, confidence, commitment and collaboration of project teams and stakeholders.
Manage NEC4 contracts, monitoring supplier performance in terms of quality, time, cost and reliability.
Identify and manage emerging issues to prevent programme delays or cost escalation.
Manage project financial performance, controlling expenditure against approved budgets and providing accurate forecasting and reporting.
Participate in project assurance and gateway reviews, producing evidence and supporting successful outcomes.
Manage project teams in line with a high-performing team ethos.
Ensure compliance with agreed processes, governance requirements and operating procedures.
Review and critique project schedules, major phases, milestones and review points.
Establish and manage project budgets based on approved business cases.
Develop cash flow forecasts and manage the drawdown of funds.
Implement and manage change control processes where appropriate.
Maintain a sound understanding of risk management principles and processes.
Make recommendations regarding project change requests based on impact assessments.
Update project plans, schedules and communications to reflect approved changes.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Essential:

Available to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week.
Active SC Clearance or the ability to obtain SC Clearance.
Hands-on consultancy and/or construction background with a minimum of 5 years' project delivery experience, including at least 5 years in a management role.
Experience delivering infrastructure projects within the built environment.
Proven experience managing electrical projects from design through to completion.
Knowledge of specialised electrical systems and their installation.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand project costs, value and contractual mechanisms.
Experience managing delivery through NEC4 contracts, including change management and stakeholder management.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable:

Experience managing projects within complex live operational or highly regulated environments.
Experience working within collaborative project delivery environments.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements.
Primavera P6 knowledge and understanding.
Experience using CEMAR or similar contract management tools.
Qualifications:
Essential:

NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation.
Chartered membership of a relevant professional body.
Degree qualified in a relevant subject.
Desirable:

Nuclear Awareness Training (NIC or similar).
SMSTS.
