A welcoming school in Aylesbury is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team and work closely with students with Moderate Learning Difficulties. This is an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant who wants to make a genuine difference, helping young people develop confidence, independence, and the skills they need to thrive both academically and personally.

You will play a key role in creating a positive and accessible learning experience for students. You will provide tailored support in the classroom, as well as through one-to-one and small group interventions, helping students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

This role would suit someone looking to develop their experience within Aylesbury while making a meaningful contribution to the lives of young people with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant in Aylesbury

Provide in-class, 1:1, and small group support for students with MLD
Support students with literacy, numeracy, and structured learning tasks
Assist teachers in delivering adapted, engaging, and accessible lessons
Help maintain a positive, inclusive, calm, and structured classroom environment
Build strong, trusting, and supportive relationships with students
Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning habits
Support pupils' social, emotional, behavioural, and academic development
Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider support team to meet individual needsRequirements

Previous experience working in SEN, particularly with MLD (preferred)
Experience working with secondary-aged students or young people
A patient, resilient, compassionate, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt your approach to different learning needs, abilities, and behaviours
Reliable, committed, and enthusiastic about supporting young people
