Transport Planner
Location: Doncaster - Hybrid
Contract: 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £40 per hour
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a local authority on a 3-month contract.
The successful candidate will support the transport and highways function, providing transport planning advice across development, policy and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and support transport strategies, policies and programmes.
Review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
Provide advice on transport and highways standards.
Manage consultations relating to planning applications.
Work with developers, contractors, internal teams and external stakeholders.
Represent the authority at regional and national transport meetings.
Support transport projects, budgets and programme delivery.
Monitor the quality and performance of suppliers and contractors.
Prepare reports and present information to senior officers, committees and stakeholders.
Keep up to date with transport policy, legislation and highways standards.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
A degree in Planning, Transport or a related subject.
Strong knowledge of transport planning, highways and planning policy.
Experience delivering transport projects and programmes.
Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
Experience working with developers, local authorities and other partners.
Good understanding of project and budget management.
Experience preparing complex reports and presenting to senior stakeholders or committees.
