Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £525 - £750 per week (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

A specialist post-16 provision based in Rochdale is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support young people aged 16-19 with a range of additional needs. The sixth form draws students from across the wider school's secondary pathways and focuses on building independence, community inclusion, and employability skills ahead of adulthood.

What you'll do:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to post-16 learners
Help deliver personalised learning and community-based programmes
Support the development of independence, life skills, and social confidence
Contribute to EHCP targets and individual planning
Work closely with the wider team, families, and external agencies

Post-16 Teaching Assistant - What We're Looking For:

Experience working with young people with SEND, ideally in a school, residential, or community setting. A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing behaviour
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A commitment to helping pupils achieve independence and life success.
A relevant qualification in support, care, or education is desirable but not essential

Post-16 Teaching Assistant - To Be Eligible You Must:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK
Have an enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
Be able to provide two professional references (child-related preferred)
