About this contract

Salary: £49,637 per annum pro rata
Location: Hampton Court Palace
Days/Hours of work: Full time, 36 hours per week. Temporary 9 month contract, externally funded.

We are the independent charity that loves and looks after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. The palaces are the setting for the stories that shape us all, and we’re bringing them to people in ways that mean more to them. We want everyone to find themselves in the spaces and stories we share.

About the role and our team

Due to external funding, we are currently recruiting for a Taxonomist and Information Architect to join our friendly and experienced Information Management (IM) team and lead the integration of our digital asset management system (DAMS) and collections management system (CMS) through a middleware solution. This role touches every part of the organisation including Conservation Collection Care and Collections Management, Public Engagement, Retail, Press, and Marketing and Membership.

As Taxonomist and Information Architect you will develop, refine and integrate taxonomies to enhance and improve the use of HRP’s digital asset management system, collections management system, website content management system. Working with teams across all six palaces, you will collaborate with different teams to improve the interoperability of current systems, and identify opportunities for improvement.

About you
You will have experience with developing and managing taxonomies, and have extensive experience working with metadata. You will have an excellent eye for detail and be able to maintain a high level of accuracy under pressure. You will be a people-person who thrives on fostering good working relationships
with the users of the IM and DAM systems.

Historic Royal Palaces is an equal opportunities employer and truly values a diverse workforce.  Applications are welcome from candidates regardless of their background.

We are also committed to high quality Safeguarding practices and to ensure everyone is kept safe in our palaces. We have procedures in place to ensure this commitment is delivered and will deal firmly and swiftly with anyone representing our charity who does not meet our required standards
