Core Subjects Tutor - Poole

Make a Difference Through Personalised Tuition

We're looking for a Core Subjects Tutor to support children and young people across Poole through tailored 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll deliver personalised support in English, Maths, and Science to learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have faced barriers to education and benefit from a flexible, individualised approach that helps them rebuild confidence, improve engagement, and achieve academic progress.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with learners and see the direct impact of your support.

Location: Poole
Subjects: English, Maths & Science
Start Date: September
Hours: Flexible
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
Strong knowledge of one or more core subjects: English, Maths, or Science
Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, organised, and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within the Poole area

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
ADHD
Anxiety and school avoidance
EHCPs and additional educational needsEvery learner has different needs and goals, requiring tutors who can adapt their approach and provide consistent support.
