Subject Specialist Tutor

Turn Your Subject Expertise Into Meaningful Support

We're looking for Subject Specialist Tutors across Basingstoke and the surrounding areas to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision and benefit from a tailored approach to learning. We welcome applications from tutors and education professionals with experience teaching any curriculum subject, whether that's English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages, Art, Business Studies, Computing, or another specialist area.

If you have experience teaching a subject and enjoy helping students achieve their potential, we'd love to hear from you.

Location: Basingstoke & Surrounding Areas
Subjects: All Subject Specialisms Considered
Start Date: September
Hours: Flexible
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
Experience teaching or supporting at least one curriculum subject
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, adaptable, and learner-focused approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally around Basingstoke and surrounding areas

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
ADHD
Anxiety and school avoidance
EHCPs and additional educational needsEach placement is different, allowing you to use your subject expertise to support learners in a way that works best for them.
