Overview

We're currently seeking a Development and Production Test Engineer (Electronics/Electrical) to support testing and diagnostics of electrical/electronic sub-systems and circuit cards during the production phase of the product lifecycle. You'll provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing test capability, helping ensure programme targets are achieved to agreed time, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities:

* Provide test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor, including supporting the introduction of new test equipment
* Test and diagnose complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies and circuit cards down to component level
* Generate test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports (based on higher-level requirements and information)
* Identify remedial/corrective actions following production test failures to keep manufacturing running to plan
* Support meetings with Quality and Operations, providing status updates on actions and investigations

Skillset/experience required:

Essential:
* Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline
* Strong understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement/test principles and fault diagnosis (down to component level)
* Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and system design, integration and test principles
* Good written/verbal communication (including producing test specs, operator instructions, technical reports)
* Ability to plan and organise work to priorities

Advantageous:
* Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology at sub-system level
* Experience operating manual and automated test equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment
