About the Role

Enfield has launched its new Family Help Service and Family Safeguarding practice model, providing an innovative, strengths-based approach to supporting children, young people and families.

The service brings together Family Help, Children’s Social Care and specialist adult services, enabling practitioners to take a whole-family approach to issues including domestic abuse, parental mental health, substance misuse, trauma and exploitation.

We are looking for an experienced and committed Children’s Social Worker to join this exciting service and help deliver timely, joined-up support that improves outcomes and promotes lasting safety and wellbeing for children.

Key Responsibilities

Manage an allocated caseload of children and families independently.

Undertake high-quality assessments and identify strengths, needs and risks.

Develop and implement effective Child in Need (CIN) plans.

Undertake long-term Child Protection work and manage complex safeguarding cases.

Build strong and meaningful relationships with children, young people and families.

Keep children's wishes, feelings and lived experiences at the centre of practice.

Deliver purposeful, strengths-based interventions that achieve positive outcomes.

Assess and manage risk appropriately, including complex and unusual cases.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies as part of a multi-agency safeguarding response.

Maintain accurate and timely case records and reports.

Participate in supervision, meetings, reviews and ongoing professional development.

Work in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance and departmental policies.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

A recognised Social Work qualification.

Current Social Work England registration.

At least 3 years' experience in direct employment within Local Authority Children’s Social Care for the experienced practitioner level.

Strong experience in assessment, CIN planning and long-term Child Protection.

Experience managing complex caseloads independently.

Strong safeguarding, risk assessment and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

The ability to adapt professional approaches when dealing with complex or unusual circumstances.

Experience of effective multi-agency working.

A child-centred and strengths-based approach to practice.
