Client: A specialist engineering and construction support company delivering a range of technical and project-related services across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. The business works closely with clients, contractors, and project teams to provide practical, efficient, and quality-focused solutions that support the successful delivery of complex projects. With experience operating in fast-paced project environments, the company is recognised for its collaborative approach, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting programme, safety, and performance requirements while supporting projects from planning through to completion.
Role: MEP Quality Assurance Manager - West London - £350-£450 per day
The project is a high profile refurbishment circa £35m MEP and will run through to the end of 2027.
Responsibilities:
* Develop Project Quality Plan: Update the project-specific Quality Management Plan, aligned with Costain & Heathrow's major project standards and ISO 9001.
* Audit Schedule: Plan and conduct regular internal audits and supply chain audits to ensure sub-contractor adherence
* Continuous Improvement: Monitor quality metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions.
* Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs): Develop, Review, approve, and oversee the execution of MEPH-specific ITPs for all systems (e.g., HVAC, smoke extraction, low-voltage distribution, power & lighting, public health systems plus Fire Alarm, BMS & Lighting Control Systems).
* Site Inspections: In conjunction with the Quality Engineers Conduct regular physical walk-downs to verify that installation matches approved construction drawings, and technical specifications.
* Material Verification: Ensure all incoming components have correct manufacturer certifications, factory acceptance testing (FAT) data, and meet aviation fire-retardant standards.
* Gateway Process: Manage quality documentation.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the GC Quality Assurance team, independent testers, and local building control.
* Asset Handover (AO/AD): Contribute to the complex technical handover documentation to smoothly transition the build from construction to operations.
* NCR Management: Issue, track, and close out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when materials or installations fail to meet standards.
* Snagging Oversight: Drive the "Right First Time" culture to minimize final snagging lists and eliminate rework costs.
* Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into technical failures or recurring installation issues on site.
* SAT Coordination: Witness and verify Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for critical MEPH plant and life safety systems in Conjunction with the Commissioning Manager
* Commissioning: Hand over completed ITP packs to the Commissioning Manager for CTP process to commence
