Location: Derby
Rate: £250–£300 per day (DOE) – Outside IR35
Site Foreman – Groundworks – Immediate Start
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Foreman to join a well-established groundworks subcontractor on a busy groundworks package in the Derby area.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality Groundworks & Civils projects. The successful candidate will be joining a busy site with the opportunity for long-term work and future projects within the business.
The Role
Working alongside the Site Manager and Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of site operations, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme. You'll lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors and maintain high standards of quality and Health & Safety throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily site operations across the groundworks package.
*
Manage site operatives, gangs.
*
Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme.
*
Coordinate labour, plant and material requirements.
*
Maintain excellent Health & Safety standards across site.
*
Deliver toolbox talks, site briefings and daily inspections.
*
Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors.
*
Monitor quality and ensure works are completed to specification.
*
Assist with planning daily activities and resolving site issues.
Scope of Works
The project involves a standard groundworks package, including foundations, drainage, concrete works, ducting, kerbing and associated external works.
Requirements
*
Previous experience as a Foreman working for a groundworks subcontractor.
*
Strong background delivering groundworks and civils packages.
*
Experience supervising multiple gangs and subcontractors.
*
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
*
SMSTS or SSSTS – Essential.
*
Gold CSCS Card – Essential.
*
First Aid at Work is desirable.
