Outreach Tutor

A Different Kind of Teaching Opportunity

We're looking for Outreach Tutors to support children and young people across Hampshire who are unable to access education in a traditional classroom setting.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide personalised 1:1 support to learners in their homes or community settings, helping them re-engage with education, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes. Many students have experienced barriers to learning and benefit from a tutor who can adapt their approach and meet them where they are in their educational journey.

This role is ideal for education professionals who enjoy building relationships, thinking creatively, and making a direct impact on a student's progress.

Location: Hampshire
Start Date: September
Hours: Flexible
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Type: 1:1 Outreach Tuition

Requirements

Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
Ability to deliver engaging, personalised learning sessions
Experience supporting children and young people with additional needs is desirable
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
Experience working independently and managing your own sessions
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within Hampshire

You'll work with learners of varying ages who may require additional support due to:

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
ADHD
Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance
EHCPs and additional educational needsYour role will focus on helping students rebuild confidence, engage positively with learning, and make meaningful progress towards their individual goals.
