Event to demystify self-assessing as a contractor

An event for contractors to help ensure that completing and filing a self-assessment return is as least taxing as possible is being put on by IPSE.

Issuing the open invitation, the Association of Independent Professionals and Self-Employed (IPSE) said it would team up with financial experts to put on the evening seminar ahead of the January 31st deadline.

As well as helping attendees with the “endless jargon and box-ticking” that self-assessing involves, IPSE said the experts would lay on a financial masterclass at the London event.

Everything ranging from how to get a mortgage as a contractor and taking out insurance, to enlisting a debt collection agency and tackling insolvency, will be covered at the free seminar.

“We're putting on this event to give independent professionals the support and [financial] advice they need,” reflected IPSE’s chief executive Chris Bryce.

“We are encouraging all freelancers, from those just starting out to those who have been their own boss for years, to start the New Year in order.”

Advisers from Abbey Tax Protection and Crunch Accounting will be on hand at IPSE’s ‘Freelancer MoneyBox,’ scheduled for Wednesday January 21st from 1800. Booking is online.
