Engineering Delivery Lead (Contract)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Delivery Lead to support the successful delivery of complex engineering programmes. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities, managing work packages and ensuring delivery against agreed plans, schedules and objectives.
You will provide clear visibility of programme progress, dependencies, risks and issues, driving accountability and ensuring actions are resolved in a timely manner. The initial contract is for six months, with potential extension depending on programme requirements and performance.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain and track engineering work packages, schedules, dependencies and completion criteria.
*
Coordinate activities across systems, software, hardware, mechanical, RF and verification teams.
*
Monitor programme progress, identify delivery risks and blockers, and drive resolution or escalation where required.
*
Support engineering change control, verification readiness and programme review activities.
*
Maintain accurate delivery metrics, actions, assumptions and risk registers.
*
Ensure appropriate evidence and documentation are available to support project reviews, milestones and delivery decisions.
*
Facilitate regular engineering delivery reviews and follow up on agreed actions.
*
Develop and maintain engineering delivery plans, task-level work breakdown structures and clear ownership of work packages.
*
Produce regular status reports highlighting progress, risks, dependencies and recovery actions.
*
Maintain accurate delivery information within programme management tools, including Jira.
Requirements
*
Proven experience leading delivery across complex, multidisciplinary engineering or product development programmes.
*
Demonstrable experience coordinating engineering work packages across multiple technical disciplines.
*
Strong planning, scheduling, risk management and stakeholder management skills.
*
Experience tracking and reporting engineering progress, dependencies and delivery risks.
*
Practical experience using Jira for programme or delivery management.
*
Ability to challenge constructively, drive accountability and deliver results in a fast-moving environment.
*
Strong organisational skills and sufficient technical understanding to coordinate complex engineering activities effectively.
Desirable
*
Background in systems engineering, product development or engineering project leadership.
*
Experience in regulated, safety-critical, communications, defence, aerospace or other complex technology environments.
*
Understanding of engineering lifecycle activities, including requirements, design, integration, verification and release.
*
Familiarity with phase-gate product development processes.
