Contract Duration: up to 01/11/2027

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of major UK transmission and renewable energy infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in projects that help connect renewable energy generation, offshore wind developments, and critical grid infrastructure to the UK's power network.

The Role

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the engineering delivery of high-voltage transmission equipment packages from concept through to commissioning. Working within a multidisciplinary project team, you will coordinate technical activities, manage stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Lead engineering activities across major transmission and renewable energy projects.
Manage the delivery of HV equipment packages, including design, manufacture, testing, installation, and commissioning.
Coordinate internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and client stakeholders.
Monitor project costs, schedules, risks, quality, and safety performance.
Support technical reviews, engineering governance, and project reporting.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and health & safety regulations.

About You

We're interested in speaking with candidates who have:

Experience delivering high-voltage transmission, substation, or grid infrastructure projects.
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
A strong understanding of transmission equipment such as transformers, GIS/HIS switchgear, reactors, control & protection systems, SCADA, and associated HV equipment.
Experience managing engineering packages, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Experience

National Grid transmission projects.
Renewable energy grid connections.
Offshore wind or HVDC projects.
EPC, utility, or major infrastructure environments.

If you're an experienced Project Engineer looking to contribute to the UK's energy transition whilst working on technically challenging transmission projects, we'd love to hear from you.
