About this contract

Civil Engineering & Construction

Rate: Negotiable
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: End of Year - Holiday cover
Hours: 50 hours per week

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Foreman to oversee day-to-day construction activities across two sites in Scotland on a short-term contract through to the end of December.

The successful candidate will initially spend five weeks at the first site before moving to a second location for the remainder of the contract.

The works are currently focused on steelwork and cladding, so we are looking for someone with a strong background in general civil engineering, building or construction who can confidently coordinate site activities, supervise operatives and maintain high standards of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily construction activities and coordinate site operatives and subcontractors.

Deliver site briefings and communicate daily tasks and priorities.

Supervise ongoing steelwork, cladding and associated construction activities.

Monitor progress and ensure works are completed safely and to the required standards.

Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and site requirements.

Liaise with site management to coordinate activities and resolve day-to-day issues.

Requirements

Previous experience as a General Foreman or in a similar construction supervisory role.

Strong background in civil engineering, building or general construction.

Experience overseeing site teams and coordinating construction activities.

A good understanding of health and safety requirements.

Experience with steelwork and cladding would be advantageous.

Ability to start ASAP and work across both locations until end of the year
