Have knowledge or experience of working with pupils with SEND, SEMH, autism, behavioural needs or other complex needs.

Have experience within an educational, care, youth work or similar supportive environment, working with children or adults.

Be confident supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.

Be able to build positive relationships, encourage engagement and promote positive behaviour.

Demonstrate resilience, flexibility and a calm, nurturing approach, particularly when working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.

Be willing to provide personal care where required and appropriate to the setting.

Job Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils across SEND, SEMH, PRU and therapeutic provisions.

Support teaching and learning activities, helping pupils access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals.

Assist pupils with autism, communication difficulties, emotional regulation and behavioural challenges.

Help maintain a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.

Support pupils inside and outside the classroom, including during break times and other activities.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, therapists and other professionals.
