About this contract

Assembly Operator

Location: Coventry
Pay Rate: £12.80 per hour
Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am - 3:10pm

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an Assembly Operator to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Coventry.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with previous assembly or manufacturing experience who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in producing high-quality products. Working within a low-volume manufacturing environment, no two days are the same. You will be involved in the assembly of a variety of products and components, building different sub-assemblies to customer specifications rather than carrying out repetitive high-volume production work.

The successful candidate will join a skilled production team, assembling a wide range of parts and components while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and attention to detail.

If you enjoy practical work, thrive in a varied manufacturing environment and are looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing business, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble a variety of mechanical and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies using hand tools and assembly equipment.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, work instructions and assembly specifications.
Build and assemble different products and components to required quality standards.
Carry out inspection and quality checks throughout the assembly process.
Ensure all assembled products meet customer and company requirements.
Record production information accurately and complete required documentation.
Identify and report any quality, material or assembly issues.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production area.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Work closely with team members to ensure production schedules are achieved.

Experience & Skills Required

Essential

Previous experience within an assembly, manufacturing or production environment.
Experience carrying out detailed sub-assembly or component assembly work.
Ability to use hand tools and basic assembly equipment confidently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and engineering drawings.
Good manual dexterity and practical skills.
Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new assembly processes.

Desirable

Experience working in low-volume or bespoke manufacturing environments.
Previous experience assembling a wide variety of products rather than repetitive production-line work.
Experience within automotive, aerospace, engineering or general manufacturing sectors.
Understanding of quality inspection processes and documentation.

£12.80 per hour
Day shift working pattern with an early finish every Friday
Stable and supportive manufacturing environment
