Are you a Logistics Manager who thrives on challenge, change and making things happen?
We are looking for an ambitious, hands-on Logistics Manager to take ownership of the logistics operation at a manufacturing facility in the Birmingham area.
This is not a role for someone looking to simply maintain the status quo.
We need someone who can walk into a challenging environment, roll up their sleeves and make a real difference
.
You’ll have the opportunity to review, challenge and transform logistics processes across the site – improving cost, stock, supplier performance, customer delivery and overall operational efficiency.
This is a big challenge – and that’s the point!
You’ll be responsible for leading the logistics function, managing the warehouse and logistics teams, and working closely with Production, Suppliers, Customers and the wider Management Team.
Commutable from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Wednesbury, Telford, Wombourne, Sutton Coldfield, Cannock, Dudley, Cradley Heath, Oldbury, Willenhall, Kingswinford, Stourbridge, Rugeley and Brierley Hill
KEY RESPONSIBILIITES
* Take ownership of all plant logistics and warehouse operations
* Lead, motivate and develop the Logistics and Warehouse teams
* Review and transform internal logistics processes
* Drive improvements in stock control, material flow and SAP warehouse management
* Analyse supplier shortages, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and their MP&L teams
* Review customer production schedules and respond quickly to changing requirements
* Develop logistics schedules to maximise manufacturing efficiency and minimise stockholding
* Drive 5S and continuous improvement across the logistics operation
* Manage logistics resources, budgets and external suppliers
* Work as a key member of the Management Team, contributing to wider business strategy
REQUIREMENTS
* Strong experience within logistics / manufacturing
* Significant vocational experience within logistics
* HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent experience
* Previous experience managing and developing a team
* Strong SAP experience
* Experience managing supplier performance
* Excellent customer relationship skills
* A strong understanding of material flow, stock control and production planning
* A hands-on, proactive and solutions-focused approach
* The confidence to challenge existing processes and introduce change
