We’re looking for an experienced Warehouse Project Manager to play a key role in the development and launch of a brand-new warehouse facility in Peterborough.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building something from the ground up. You’ll take ownership of the project from planning and fit-out through to operational readiness and go-live, working closely with senior leadership, contractors, suppliers and operational teams.
This is a hands-on project role where you’ll be on-site, making things happen and ensuring the new facility is ready to operate successfully.
The Role
Lead the project to develop and launch the new warehouse facility
Work closely with the Operations & Finance Director and senior stakeholders
Help shape the warehouse layout, racking, storage, goods-in/out areas and workflow
Coordinate contractors, suppliers and external partners throughout the build and fit-out
Manage project timelines, budgets, milestones and dependencies
Identify operational requirements and ensure the new facility is designed around them
Support decisions around warehouse equipment, MHE, storage solutions and capacity
Coordinate IT, warehouse systems, stock processes and operational infrastructure
Ensure H&S, risk assessments and compliance are embedded throughout the project
Plan the transition from the existing operation into the new facility
Coordinate stock movements, relocation and operational readiness ahead of go-live
Work with warehouse and stock teams to develop SOPs and processes for the new site
Support recruitment, training and team readiness where required
Manage project risks, issues and changes through to resolution
Oversee testing, snagging and final preparations ahead of launch
Act as the key link between the business, contractors and operational teams
Support the business through the bedding-in period and drive continuous improvement following launch
About You
We’re looking for someone who has genuinely managed warehouse, logistics or industrial projects and is comfortable taking ownership from concept through to completion.
You'll ideally have:
Experience managing warehouse, logistics, distribution or industrial projects
Strong project management and organisational skills
Experience with warehouse layouts, fit-outs, relocations or new-site setups
The ability to manage contractors, suppliers and multiple stakeholders
Strong Excel, data and reporting skills
Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
A practical, hands-on approach — happy to be on-site and involved, rather than purely office-based
Desirable Experience
Warehouse management or stock control background
Racking, MHE, storage systems or warehouse equipment
WMS/ERP implementation or warehouse systems
Health & safety and compliance
Taking a new facility through to operational go-live
You'll be instrumental in creating a new warehouse operation from the ground up, making key decisions around layout, infrastructure, processes and operational readiness, before seeing the project through to launch.
If you've successfully delivered a warehouse move, fit-out, expansion, relocation or new-site project and want the opportunity to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
