Our client is seeking 10 Quality Inspectors to join a major nuclear infrastructure programme based in Plymouth. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's most significant defence and infrastructure projects, providing quality oversight throughout the construction lifecycle.
Working within the Quality Control team, you will be responsible for ensuring all inspection, testing, and quality assurance activities are completed in accordance with project specifications, standards, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
The Role
Following an initial induction and familiarisation period on day shifts, you will move onto a permanent night shift pattern of 7:00pm - 5:30am, operating on a 4 days on / 4 days off rotation. Enhanced rates are available for night and weekend working, with expenses claimable in line with project guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Quality Control inspections in accordance with project specifications and ITP requirements.
Attend kick-off meetings and pre-inspection production meetings where required.
Monitor compliance with approved procedures, quality plans, and inspection requirements.
Witness inspections, testing activities, factory acceptance tests, and site acceptance tests.
Verify calibration and suitability of inspection and test equipment.
Produce inspection reports and communicate findings to project stakeholders.
Ensure inspection findings are effectively reported, corrected, and verified.
Support the generation and verification of Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs).
Carry out final inspections and issue release certification where applicable.
Report progress and quality performance to Quality Engineers and Quality Managers.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
Previous experience within quality inspection and/or quality assurance on construction projects.
Civil construction experience.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
Eligibility and willingness to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
Relevant civil engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience. Desirable
Nuclear, Defence, or MOD project experience.
ISO 9001 Auditor qualification.
HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
CSCS Card.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
