Mechanical Inspector –
Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join an ongoing project based in Walsall, working on a new-build carbon capture plant within the oil & gas sector.
The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for supporting quality and inspection activities associated with the manufacture of stainless-steel fittings, ensuring work is completed in accordance with the required specifications and quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Inspector with a strong background in mechanical inspection, welding inspection and NDT to secure work on a major industrial project.
Key Requirements
The successful Mechanical Inspector will ideally hold:
* CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector
* PCN Level 2 in Radiography (RAD/RT)
* PCN Level 2 in Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI/PT)
* Previous experience in mechanical inspection, welding inspection or quality control
* Experience working with stainless-steel fittings or similar manufactured components
* Experience within oil & gas, energy, engineering or other heavy industrial environments
* Strong understanding of inspection procedures, specifications and quality requirements
* Ability to review and complete relevant inspection documentation and reports
Role Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Inspector, your responsibilities may include:
* Carrying out inspections of stainless-steel fittings and associated fabrication
* Conducting visual and dimensional inspections
* Supporting welding and fabrication quality control
* Carrying out or interpreting relevant NDT examinations within your certification scope
* Reviewing inspection and test documentation
* Identifying defects, non-conformances and quality issues
* Ensuring inspection activities are completed in line with project specifications
* Working closely with production, welding and quality teams
* Maintaining accurate inspection records and reports
* Supporting the overall quality assurance requirements of the project
The Mechanical Inspector will play an important role in ensuring the quality and compliance of components manufactured for the project.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Inspector who can demonstrate relevant experience within a manufacturing, fabrication, oil & gas, energy or heavy engineering environment.
Candidates must have CSWIP 3.1 and PCN Level 2 in RAD and DPI.
Candidates must also have the right to work in the UK.
