Tag Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join our team on a major project at Heathrow Airport – Airside. This is a hands-on position for an experienced Foreman who is confident leading a small team while working alongside operatives on site. The successful candidate must have strong groundworks experience, particularly in deep excavations, trenching and trench box installation.
Due to the nature of the project, previous experience working on complex groundworks and excavation projects is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a small team of groundworkers and operatives.
Manage daily groundworks activities and ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
Oversee deep excavation, trenching and trench box installation.
Supervise drainage, ducting, foundations, concrete works, kerbing, slabbing and associated groundworks.
Ensure excavations are safely installed, supported and maintained in accordance with approved methods.
Read and understand construction drawings, specifications and method statements.
Plan daily activities, allocate labour and coordinate plant and materials.
Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure works meet project requirements.
Liaise with Site Management, subcontractors, engineers and other site teams.
Monitor health and safety standards and ensure company and site procedures are followed.
Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and progress updates.
Identify potential issues on site and report them promptly to the Site Manager.
Work hands-on with the team when required to ensure productivity and program targets are achieved.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Groundworks Foreman / Supervisor.
Strong practical background in heavy groundworks and excavation.
Proven deep excavation experience – essential.
Proven trench box installation experience – essential.
Experience supervising excavation and temporary works activities.
CSCS Gold Supervisor Card – essential.
SSSTS or SMSTS – essential.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements within construction.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
Ability to follow RAMS, method statements and permit requirements.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work nights and operate effectively in an airport environment.
Minimum 5 years’ relevant work references required.
Heathrow Airside Requirements - Due to the location of the project.Candidates should be prepared to provide the necessary employment history and supporting documentation as part of the airport clearance process.
