Instrument Technician – Barrow-in-Furness

Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for Instrument Technician positions to join the Production Operations team at a major energy facility in Barrow-in-Furness.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Instrument Technician to join a long-term project supporting the maintenance, reliability and scheduled availability of operational plant and equipment associated with gas production and processing.

The Role – Instrument Technician

As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out engineering maintenance and defect repair activities across operational plant and equipment.

The successful Instrument Technician will work as part of the Production Operations team, supporting the safe and reliable operation of the facility.

Key responsibilities for the Instrument Technician will include:

Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance.

*

Completing corrective maintenance and defect repair.

*

Fault finding on instrumentation and control systems.

*

Supporting the reliability and availability of operational plant.

*

Identifying and resolving instrumentation defects.

*

Working safely within a regulated operational environment.

*

Completing maintenance activities in line with site procedures.

*

Supporting the wider engineering and maintenance team.

Instrument Technician Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Instrument Technician with a strong background in instrumentation maintenance, ideally within oil & gas, gas processing, energy, petrochemical, chemical, nuclear or other process environments.

The ideal Instrument Technician will have:

Proven experience working as an Instrument Technician.

*

Strong hands-on instrumentation maintenance experience.

*

Experience with planned and preventative maintenance.

*

Experience carrying out fault finding and defect repair.

*

Experience working on operational/process plant.

*

Relevant instrumentation or electrical qualifications.

*

A strong understanding of health, safety and site procedures.

*

The ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team.
