TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist setting in Leeds supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The setting provides a supportive environment where students are encouraged to develop their confidence, engagement and positive relationships.
The setting is looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant for short and long-term opportunities, with both full-time and part-time work available. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will support students with SEMH needs, helping to manage challenging behaviour, encourage engagement with learning and provide consistent support throughout the school day.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Experience working within an education, SEND or alternative provision setting
• Strong behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with students
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
