The Opportunity
Clarkson Owens Recruitment is working with an established construction contractor who is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of a residential development at Corstorphine, Edinburgh.
The project comprises the development of 11 new residential apartments, incorporating the retained frontage of a former building together with a new three-storey extension.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of a high-quality residential project and manage the development through construction to successful completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities
The Site Manager will have day-to-day responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, including:
* Managing all site activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
* Coordination and management of subcontractors and trades.
* Programming and sequencing works to maintain project milestones.
* Maintaining high standards of health, safety and site organisation.
* Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring defects are identified and resolved.
* Coordinating deliveries, materials and site logistics within a constrained urban site.
* Working closely with the Contracts/Project Management team, consultants and subcontractors.
* Monitoring progress against programme and reporting on any potential delays.
* Ensuring drawings, specifications and construction information are correctly implemented.
* Managing the project through commissioning, snagging and final handover.
The Candidate
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in residential construction.
Ideally, you will have:
* Previous Site Management experience within residential construction.
* Experience delivering flatted or multi-unit residential developments.
* Strong subcontractor management skills.
* Excellent understanding of construction programmes and sequencing.
* A strong approach to health & safety and quality management.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* The ability to take ownership of a project and drive it through to completion.
* SMSTS, First Aid and relevant CSCS qualifications.
Experience working on projects involving existing buildings, retained façades or restricted city sites would be particularly advantageous.
