A secondary school in Newham is looking for a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join their premises team. The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students and staff across the school.
The Role
As a School Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school site.
Key responsibilities include:
Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices, communal areas and other school facilities.
Cleaning and maintaining toilets and washroom facilities.
Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors.
Dusting and wiping down surfaces and furniture.
Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards or damage to the appropriate member of staff.
Following health and safety procedures and COSHH guidelines.
Ensuring cleaning equipment and products are used safely and correctly.
Supporting with additional cleaning duties when required.
Maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness across the school.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous cleaning experience, preferably within a school, office or commercial environment.
A strong attention to detail and pride in their work.
A reliable and hardworking attitude.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good time-management and organisational skills.
An understanding of health and safety and safe working practices.
A professional and friendly approach when working within a school environment.
The ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality.
