Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Bricklayer Improver to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will enhance and refine brickwork, masonry, and concrete structures, ensuring high-quality finishes and structural integrity. Your expertise will contribute to a variety of projects, including renovations, restorations, and new builds, where precision and craftsmanship are essential. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to impressive construction outcomes.

Responsibilities

Assist in laying bricks, blocks, and stones with accuracy and attention to detail, following blueprints and schematics

Improve existing masonry structures through repair, restoration, and finishing techniques

Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and scaffolding safely and efficiently on construction sites

Install rebar (reinforcing steel) for concrete structures to ensure stability and durability

Perform concrete finishing tasks such as smoothing, levelling, and sealing surfaces for aesthetic appeal and structural soundness

Read blueprints and schematics to accurately execute construction plans whilst coordinating with team members

Support in various tasks including plastering, stucco application, caulking, trim carpentry, tile laying, roofing, framing, metal stud framing, welding, and heavy equipment operation as needed

Experience

Proven experience working on construction sites with masonry or concrete-related projects

Familiarity with construction estimating processes and blueprint reading is highly desirable

Hands-on experience with concrete forming techniques and rebar installation is preferred

Knowledge of renovation or restoration projects involving stucco, plastering, or historic building preservation is advantageous

Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely in diverse construction environments

Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts or cranes is a plus but not mandatory

Strong understanding of schematics and technical drawings relevant to masonry work
