About this contract

Our client are seeking an experienced Groundworker & 360 Operator in Retford, to work on a water treatment site.

These are two separate roles, the client requires a 360 Operator with relevant CPCS ticket. Alongside a Groundworker with relevant CSCS card. 

45 hour week 
Monday - Friday
6 months work on offer
Start Date - 28/09/2026
No lodge is on offer candidates will have to be commutable. 
You will need your own PPE
You will need RTW in the UK and a UK Drivers Licence, as the site is remote and will not be accessible by public transport. 

Rate is negotiable based on skills/experience. 

As this role is working on an active water treatment plant, you will have ideally worked in these environments previously. 

Brief Role Outline:
360 Excavator Operator – Core Duties
Precision Utility Digging: Excavate trenches for clean water mains, storm systems, and plant equipment to exact levels and gradients as directed by the groundworker.
Safe Service Exposure: Carefully pilot the excavator around live underground utilities (gas, electric, comms), relying strictly on the groundworker’s signals and physical trial holes.
Lifting & Shoring Operations: Lift, position, and place heavy infrastructure components—including trench boxes, shoring systems, manhole rings, and iron/polyethylene pipes—using certified lifting attachments.
Plant Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-start inspections on the excavator (fluids, tracks, hydraulics, and safety mirrors) and maintain accurate logbooks.  
Skilled Groundworker – Core Duties

Service Location & Trial Holes: Utilize CAT and Genny scanners to locate live services, and carefully hand-dig trial holes to visually expose utilities before the excavator digs.
Pipe-Laying & Jointing: Align, lay, and joint clean water mains or wastewater pipes, ensuring correct positioning, bedding, and surround materials are used.
Trench Support Installation: Install and secure trench boxes, sheets, and struts to ensure the excavation remains safe to work in.
Site Engineering Support: Set up dual-grade lasers, read level pegs, and constantly monitor the trench depth and grade to guide the operator
