Mechanical Site Manager
Location: Merseyside, Halton & St Helens – Working across multiple sites
Start Date: 14th October
Contract: Until 2028 – Temporary long term work
Programme Value: £60 Million
We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager / Mechanical Site Manager to join a major £60 million public sector decarbonisation programme across Merseyside, Halton and St Helens.
The programme involves approximately 30 schemes, with 18 live sites currently being delivered across a range of council-owned public buildings, including council offices, libraries, gyms, leisure centres and other public facilities.
This is a long-term opportunity running through to 2028 and would suit an experienced mechanical professional with a strong building services background and experience working across multiple live sites.
The programme is focused on reducing carbon emissions and improving the energy efficiency of public buildings.
The works include:
* Replacement of existing gas heating systems and pumps
* Installation of Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
* Solar PV installations
* LED lighting upgrades
* Mechanical plant and building services upgrades
* Energy-efficiency improvements
* Potential cavity wall insulation
* Loft insulation installations
* Associated mechanical and M&E works
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of multiple decarbonisation schemes and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Manage and coordinate works across multiple live public-sector sites
* Oversee mechanical installation and building services activities
* Coordinate subcontractors and specialist M&E contractors
* Monitor programme, progress, quality and health & safety
* Liaise with council representatives and project stakeholders
* Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and relevant standards
* Attend site meetings and provide progress updates
* Identify and resolve technical and delivery issues
Ensure appropriate documentation, records and handover information are maintained
Relevant qualifications may include:
* SMSTS
* CSCS
* Relevant mechanical/building services qualification
* IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent
* First Aid
* Asbestos Awareness
* Other relevant M&E / construction qualifications
