Remote working – office attendance usually once per month in Oxfordshire

We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Casework Officer to join and manage a caseload of children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

The Role

You will be responsible for managing ongoing EHCP casework and ensuring all statutory processes are completed accurately and within required timescales. This will include:

Managing a defined caseload of children and young people with EHCPs.
Coordinating and monitoring Annual Reviews and Phase Transfers.
Managing cases moving into and out of the county.
Monitoring EHCP provision and ensuring plans are implemented effectively.
Acting as a key contact for families, young people, schools and professionals.
Managing complex casework and supporting mediation and Tribunal processes.
Preparing information and reports for decision-making panels, mediation and Tribunals.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and databases.
Ensuring Draft, Final and amended EHCPs are accurate and of a high standard.
Working closely with education, health, social care, finance and commissioning teams.
Supporting quality assurance and contributing to the development of SEND policies and processes.
We are looking for someone with strong EHCP/SEND casework experience, ideally within a Local Authority environment. You will need:

Experience managing an individual caseload.
Strong knowledge of EHCP statutory processes and timescales.
Experience with Annual Reviews and Phase Transfers.
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
The ability to analyse complex information and professional reports.
Excellent attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
The resilience to work effectively in a busy and sometimes pressured environment.
Experience of mediation or SEND Tribunal processes would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND/EHCP Casework Officer to join a team on a highly flexible hybrid basis.
