About this contract

Role: Office Manager / PA to Deputy Heads

Start Date: October 2026 or sooner

Location: Slough area, Buckinghamshire

Contract Term: Maternity Cover contract (until July 2027)

Salary: £35,000 - £38,500 for 38 weeks a year (c. £51,000 FTE equivalent)

A leading independent school in Buckinghamshire (north of Slough) is seeking an Office Manager/PA to the Deputy Heads. This is a full time role from October 2026 to cover maternity leave until July 2027. Hours are 09:30am to 6:30pm.

This is a well-established independent school, committed to providing an outstanding education and nurturing environment for their students. An exciting maternity cover opportunity has arisen to manage our school office and support our Senior Leadership Team as PA to the Deputy Heads: Senior Deputy Head (Academic), Deputy Head (Pastoral) and Deputy Head (Management). This is a key role, as a professional and polished ambassador for the school at all times, based in our busy main office. The primary responsibilities of the PA will be to provide administrative and organisational support for the Deputy Heads but also to perform key process tasks to facilitate and support a range of service and functions for the wider school community.

The successful candidate will be:

* An experienced senior level PA, confident with a busy and varied workload;

* Flexible, adaptable and very well organised;

* Confident with MS Office applications, Outlook, Word and Excel in particular; also in the use of databases such as iSAMS for reporting and administrative processes;

* A resilient and resourceful individual;

* A calm team player who can prioritise effectively and work efficiently, and have excellent interpersonal skills, with a cheerful “can do” attitude and confident in communicating appropriately with a wide variety of contacts across the school and parent body

If you want to work in a busy, but small office, have a passion for education combined with enthusiasm for communicating with families effectively and have integrity, professionalism and respect, please send your CV to Duncan or contact him for more information including an information pack.

Knight Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants for the post must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including reference checks with previous employers and an enhanced DBS check
