Hours: 45 hours per week

End Date: 3 January 2027
PAYE Rate: £23.60 per hour
Umbrella Rate: £30.73 per hour
Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable HVAC Engineer to join a site-based engineering team in Northampton.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out HVAC-related duties while supporting the Mechanical & Electrical Engineer with general maintenance tasks across the site.
A positive, professional and flexible "can-do" attitude is essential. The role will require someone who is comfortable working across a range of tasks and is willing to assist with basic electrical, plumbing and fabric maintenance when required.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out HVAC maintenance, servicing and repair duties across the site.
Diagnose and resolve HVAC-related faults efficiently and professionally.
Support the Mechanical & Electrical Engineer with day-to-day site maintenance.
Assist with basic electrical maintenance tasks where required.
Carry out basic plumbing tasks and general building maintenance.
Assist with fabric maintenance and minor repairs.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.
Follow all relevant health and safety procedures and site requirements.
Maintain accurate records of work completed where required.
Work effectively as part of the engineering and facilities team.
Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to support colleagues across different maintenance disciplines.
Maintain a professional and positive approach at all times.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
City & Guilds 2079-11 - Category I F-Gas and ODS Regulations qualification.
City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 Diploma in an appropriate HVAC/refrigeration discipline.
Level 2 and/or Level 3 NVQ in an appropriate HVAC/refrigeration discipline.
Previous experience working as an HVAC Engineer in a commercial or facilities environment.
Good knowledge of HVAC systems, maintenance and fault finding.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Strong commitment to health and safety.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
