A welcoming specialised school in High Wycombe is seeking a calm, proactive, and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. Experience with non-verbal pupils and children with complex needs is essential.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is calm, proactive, and committed to making a genuine difference in the lives of young people. You will work closely with non-verbal pupils and pupils with complex needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting both their academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant in High Wycombe

Provide both in-class and 1:1 support for pupils with ASD and additional needs
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Support students' emotional wellbeing and academic progress throughout the dayThe Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant in High Wycombe

A patient, nurturing, and reliable individual
Previous experience supporting children with SEN (essential)
Experience working in a school or with children in a similar setting
Experience supporting non-verbal pupils and children with complex needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
