The Role
We are currently recruiting for 2 experienced Shuttering Carpenters to join a major project at Copthall Headhouse in Uxbridge.
The successful operatives will be responsible for carrying out specialist timber shuttering and formwork works around structural steel members. The works involve constructing bespoke timber shuttering to facilitate the formation of high-quality, square-edge concrete finishes.
This is a hands-on role requiring experienced operatives who are confident reading drawings, accurately setting out works and producing high-quality shuttering and formwork.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Shuttering Carpenter, your duties will include:
Measuring and accurately setting out shuttering works in accordance with site drawings and specifications.
Constructing bespoke timber shuttering and formwork around structural steel members.
Cutting, assembling and installing timber formwork.
Erecting and securely fixing shuttering prior to concrete placement.
Ensuring all formwork is accurately aligned and capable of maintaining the required dimensions.
Producing high-quality shuttering to achieve clean and square-edge concrete finishes.
Checking levels, lines, dimensions and alignment throughout the installation process.
Striking and dismantling shuttering and formwork once concrete works have been completed.
Working from construction drawings and following site specifications.
Using relevant hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Working safely at height where required.
Using access equipment in line with IPAF certification.
Maintaining a clean and organised working area.
Working closely with the Site Manager, Supervisors and other trades.
Ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with the project programme.
Following all site health and safety procedures at all times.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants must have:
Blue CSCS Card – Carpentry & Joinery
Valid IPAF Certification
Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter / Formwork Carpenter
Experience constructing bespoke timber shuttering
Experience working around structural steel
Ability to accurately measure, set out and interpret drawings.
Experience producing high-quality concrete finishes.
Own tools suitable for shuttering and carpentry works.
Full PPE.
Good understanding of site health and safety procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable and available to start ASAP.
