Environmental Consultant (Permitting) – Contract (3 days p/w) – Remote Working
Location: Remote Working
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Renewable Energy sectors.
The role is part time (c.3 days p/w), working remotely though attendance to a monthly meeting will be required.
This role is deemed to be outside IR35.
Role & Responsibilities
* Development and implementation of programs to comply with environmental regulations, permit requirements, internal policies and standards.
* Supporting project permitting process, development of permitting applications and packs and in particular SSSI permits.
* Supporting various aspects of environmental obligations including Environmental Management Systems (EMS), permitting strategy, permitting and consents, planning strategy and support, design standards, legal compliance, carbon reporting, climate change risk assessment and adaptation.
* Consultancy style support to projects and clients including planning applications and environmental risk assessments.
* Environmental input to projects at various design stages to identify environmental impacts at an early stage and mitigate any delay they may cause.
* Complete, submit and/or review required regulatory reports.
* Creating reports to identify environmental risk assessments associated with client / project needs and create plans to ensure compliance.
Key Skills & Knowledge
* Degree in in Environmental, Chemical or equivalent Engineering.
* Chartered status preferred but not essential.
* Strong experience in SSSI permitting is essential.
* Awareness of Decarbonization, Renewables and Energy efficiency principles an advantage.
Additional Information
This is a part time contract role, working outside IR35 that will require at least 1 day per month on site in West Wales at a major energy plant
