Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing / Construction
Optima Site Solutions is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Lewisham.
We are particularly interested in candidates with Quantity Surveying experience and a strong background in social housing.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
* Preparing estimates, valuations, variations and cost reports.
* Working with SOR Codes (Schedule of Rates) to price works, assess costs and complete valuations.
* Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial and cost risks.
* Reviewing contractor applications, valuations and invoices.
* Working closely with contractors, clients and project teams.
* Supporting procurement and contract management.
* Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the required standards.
* Maintaining accurate commercial, financial and project documentation.
* Identifying cost savings and supporting effective commercial management.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar commercial role within social housing, maintenance, repairs or construction.
* Good working knowledge and practical experience of SOR Codes / Schedule of Rates is essential.
* Experience pricing and valuing responsive repairs, planned works, maintenance or refurbishment projects would be highly advantageous.
* Good understanding of construction processes, contracts and commercial management.
